Mastertech Ceramic InsertsOverviewCeramic inserts have high resistance to heat and to wear and are used to machine extremely hard metals. They are chemically stable and do not react chemically to materials being cut. These characteristics allow ceramics to be used to machine metals at high cutting speeds and in dry machining conditions because high heat has little effect on the cutting edges of these tools. Ceramic inserts are primarily made from alumina (Al2O3) and silicon nitride (Si3N4) compounds. They can also be mixed with other materials that can make them harder. Our inserts are manufactured with the finest ceramics and coating materials available, selected to suit your application to ensure the most cost effective solution to your cutting tool problems.
